 4 hours 45 minutes by car (271 miles) or 4 hours 30 minutes by train (London Waterloo to St Austell)


THE ACCOMMODATION

Polpier can comfortably accommodate up to 16 discerning guests in 8 opulent bedrooms, each boasting exquisite en-suite bathroom facilities. The main house houses 7 of these lavish bedrooms on the first floor, while The Honeymoon Suite houses the remaining bedroom.

Ground Floor

Hall and Disco: The central main hall of the house serves as a vibrant disco, adorned with a DJ booth and a comprehensive array of equipment. It features an integrated dual player/mixer capable of playing music from various sources such as CDs, laptops, and iPods, complemented by two turntables. The pulsating colored light beams synchronize seamlessly with the rhythmic beats of the music.

Boot Room: Discover a thrilling treasure trove, specifically designed to accommodate fishing rods, tennis equipment, and golf bags, where adventure awaits at every corner.

Cloakroom: with WC and washbasin

Family Room: Adjacent to the main hall, lies the captivating family room adorned with a grand L-shaped sofa, a charming wood burning stove, and an immersive Bose home cinema system boasting a carefully curated collection of films.

Snooker Room: Across the main hall lies the inviting snooker room, adorned with an impressive eight-foot table and a spacious bay window offering captivating vistas of the picturesque harbour.

Drawing Room: Next door to the snooker room lies a cosy lounge adorned with plush sofas, featuring a charming wood burning stove, and offering picturesque vistas of the surrounding gardens and enchanting harbour.

Kitchen/Breakfast Room: In the expansive, well-appointed kitchen, you'll find a luxurious four-oven electric Aga, a convenient dishwasher, a stylish sink, and an inviting granite-topped breakfast bar adorned with stools that can accommodate up to 10 people. The room boasts a wall-mounted TV and French windows that open onto the sun terrace, offering breathtaking views. At the opposite end of this luminous and roomy space lies the dining area.

Ante Kitchen: This luxuriously outfitted second kitchen boasts two spacious fridges, a state-of-the-art ice maker, a sleek electric hob, dual ovens, a pair of efficient dishwashers, and a convenient sink.

Dining Area: In the kitchen, situated at the far end, stands a charming wood burning stove. Adjacent to it rests a magnificent dining table crafted with sleek granite, capable of accommodating up to 16 guests. Should the need arise, an additional seating arrangement in the form of a T-shape is available, boasting generous windows that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding grounds and picturesque harbour.

Games Room: Nestled beside the kitchen is the exhilarating games room, boasting a table tennis table.

Utility/Laundry Room: A lavishly furnished laundry room boasting two state-of-the-art washing machines and two efficient tumble dryers, alongside ample storage capacity. Additionally, it features a secure gun cabinet capable of accommodating up to 18 firearms, and a stylish cloakroom complete with a pristine WC and elegant basin.

Sun Terrace: French doors elegantly connect the kitchen/breakfast/dining room to the sun terrace, adorned with a spacious granite dining table accommodating up to 16 guests and an inviting BBQ area. Gazebo Bar: Nestled amidst breathtaking vistas of the harbour and lush countryside, the covered gazebo bar beckons with its awe-inspiring panoramas. The ambiance is further enhanced by enchanting lighting and a cosy wood-burning fire.

First Floor

Red Bedroom: Perched atop the snooker room, at the front of the house, rests a lavish bedroom boasting a majestic super king-size bed, an exquisite en-suite walk-in shower room, and breathtaking vistas of the charming harbour.

Green Bedroom: Nestled on the side of the house, a charming room awaits with an opulent super king-size bed, easily convertible into a twin. Its en-suite bathroom boasts a splendid Victorian-style roll-top bath, complemented by a refreshing shower attachment. All the while, the room offers captivating vistas of the picturesque harbour.

Grey Bedroom: This charming and ethereal bedroom rests at the rear of the house, perched above the family room. It features a lavish super king-size bed and a private en-suite bathroom adorned with a picturesque Victorian-style roll top bath complemented by a convenient shower attachment.

Blue Bedroom: This expansive bedroom, the second largest in the house, is nestled at the rear, offering captivating sea views through numerous windows. It boasts a lavish super king-size bed and a stylish en-suite bathroom adorned with a charming Victorian-style roll top bath and a separate, indulgent walk-in shower.

Yellow Bedroom: Nestled upfront, above the snooker room, lies a lavishly appointed chamber adorned with a magnificent super king-size bed, accompanied by an en-suite bathroom boasting a Victorian style roll top bath and a convenient shower attachment. From this vantage point, one can relish captivating vistas of the picturesque harbour.

Aqua Suite: The two bedrooms in the house offer stunning vistas and comfortable accommodations. The spacious master bedroom boasts a magnificent super king-size bed, providing panoramic views of the picturesque harbour, charming gardens, and the inviting terrace. Meanwhile, the second bedroom also features a super king-size bed that can be converted into twin beds, allowing guests to enjoy views of the lovely gardens and the tranquil hillside. A generously sized en-suite bathroom, designed in a Victorian style, presents a captivating roll top bath and a separate walk-in shower, to be shared by both bedrooms.

The Honeymoon Suite: Located just a leisurely stroll away from the main house, this exquisite suite ensures utmost seclusion for its esteemed guests. Inside, you'll find a welcoming ambiance with a comfortable sofa, a charming wood burning stove, a luxuriously spacious super king-size bed, and an en-suite shower and dressing room. Additionally, the suite boasts a convenient kitchenette. The bedroom features sliding doors that lead to a glass screened balcony, offering breathtaking vistas of the terraced garden and the harbor. Adding to its allure, the entrance of the Honeymoon Suite opens up to a delightful small sun-trap terrace, which overlooks the enchanting apple orchard.

Grounds

Nestled within two expansive acres, the gardens boast an exquisite array of flower gardens, orchards, vegetable and herb gardens, accompanied by a serene goldfish pond. With breathtaking vistas overlooking Mevagissey harbour, these gardens offer an exclusive sanctuary for guests seeking complete privacy during their stay.

At the forefront of the house lies a captivating croquet and cricket lawn, adorned with a charming gazebo gracing one end. A delightful pathway meanders from the sun terrace, guiding you past the manicured front lawn, leading to an outdoor heated swimming pool (accessible from Easter weekend to the first week in October) that awaits beyond a wooden gate. Embracing the pool, you'll discover comfortable sun loungers adorning both sides, accompanied by a wall-integrated table and chairs, along with a petite charcoal BBQ.

Venturing further, tucked behind Polpier, an all-weather clay tennis court awaits your enjoyment. Within the boot room, an assortment of rackets and balls, along with a croquet set, are available for your leisure.

 

Weddings and Civil Ceremonies (50 Guests)

Polpier offers you a unique and exclusive location to create your perfect wedding day with a civil licence allowing weddings of up to 50 people.  

There are three potential locations within the house and the gardens for you to complete your wedding vows.  The gazebo on Polpier's front lawn, in the main hall or in the drawing room. 

To hold a Civil Licence event at Polpier it is required that the property is let for a week, a weekend or a mid-week.  A Civil Licence event is charged at £800. For couples who book Polpier there is no extra charge for up to 16 attendees.  For couples who book both Polpier and Penpol there is no extra charge for up to 26 attendees.

For larger Civil Licence events and parties there is an extra charge of £2,000 for up to 50 extra attendees.

 

Corporate Events

Polpier is the perfect venue for corporate events, off-site meetings and executive board meetings. The house is well equipped for meetings with many reception rooms and local caterers who can look after the guests during their stay. For larger groups you can hire the Polpier Estate which will give you up to 13 bedrooms.
