Location - Cartmel House is located of the outskirts of the village of Cark, two miles from Cartmel where Chef, Simon Rogan, has two Michelin starred restaurants including the world famous, L’enclume and four miles from the coastal town of Grange-over-Sands with the stunning Lake District National Park on your doorstep and beautiful Lake Windermere and Coniston Water a short drive away

Nearest Airport: Manchester Airport 1 hour 30 minutes (89 miles) 

London: 5 hours by car (270 miles) or 3 hours 55 minutes by train (London Euston to Cark & Cartmel)

Cartmel House sleeps 20 guests in ten individually designed bedrooms all with en-suite bathroom facilities

Ground Floor

Entrance Hall: with tiled flooring, working open fireplace and beautiful period furniture 

The Drawing Room: a spacious reception area with bay window, lots of sofas and armchairs, open working feature fireplace, a large Victorian bookcase and Great Grandfather Clock

Main Bar: a large bar area with bar stools, sofa, armchairs and large open fireplace. Bar packages available on request for an extra charge

Cloakroom: with 2 WC's and a double sink

The Dining Room: dining tale and chairs to seat 20 guests with open fireplace

The Orangery: a beautiful, light conservatory with table and chairs to seat 12 guests overlooking the garden and grounds

Commercial Kitchen: a fully equipped commercial kitchen including gas Range cooker and grill, commercial dishwasher and ice machine

Laundry Room: full size industrial 16kg washing machine and tumble dryer 

Domestic Kitchen: a fully equipped Smallbone designer kitchen with Miele appliances, two steam ovens, microwave, oven, 4 door Aga, SubZero fridge freezer and wine fridge, dishwasher, central island with Miele induction hob and flat screen TV

Sandy Lane Suite: this suite has a private entrance, separate to the rest of the house and has a super king-size bed, wardrobe, dressing table, two-seater sofa, coffee table, 55’’ flat screen TV and en-suite with a walk-in shower

Lounge/Snug: with a large L-shaped Timothy Oulton sofa and two armchairs, 65’’ flat screen TV and large open working fireplace, Pin Ball Machine, Jukebox and refurbished 1960’s Coca-Cola Machine, dispensing ice-cold coke in bottles

Cinema Room: with a 95" projector screen and plenty of comfy seating

Wine Cellar: a stunning 1000 bottle wine cellar with an extensive wine list available for guests to purchase during their stay

A self-contained apartment with an open plan living/kitchen with sofa, armchairs, coffee table, flat screen TV, breakfast bar and fully equipped kitchen

The bedroom is located on the first floor with a king-size bed, large three-seater sofa and a feature Villeroy Boch bath

Six acres of stunning grounds and woodlands with various patio areas surrounding the house all with tables and chairs, woodland perimeter walk and amazing gazebo

Our very own Costa Coffee, where, upon request, we can provide a barrister each morning or you can make your own

Caesars Palace

Small but cosy, dedicated card room, named after our favourite Vegas hotel, somewhere you can relax for a game of cards and a glass or two of whiskey
