The Barn and The Cottage are designed to be taken together though are available separately.
The Barn sleeps 10 in five bedrooms and has a more modernist feel
The Cottage sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, and has some great heritage touches.
Both have beautiful interiors and are a bit of a design buff’s dream. Marcus Crane of vintage designers McCully and Crane has hand-selected and restored all the furniture from auctions, fairs and private collectors, to create a quirky and homely environment. There are all sorts of lovely finds such as old university desks, a William Morris chaise longue, and a 100 year old railway ticket from London to Launceston, blown up into a huge print.
The Rooms
Six en-suite bedrooms in the Cottage and five in the Barn, most with extra large doubles. Seven of the bedrooms have zip-and-link beds, so can be offered as twins if preferred.
Eleven bathrooms, one for each bedroom, and many with rainfall showers, wetrooms and roll-top baths.
Two state-of-the-art kitchens (one in each building) with induction hobs, four dishwashers, a drawer-fridge and even a wine-fridge. These have comprehensive cooking equipment, and table settings for multi-course dinners of 24 people.
A celebration dining room in The Cottage seating 24 at an impressive 5.5m Douglas Fir table, and a large open plan kitchen and diner in The Barn, also seating 24 and perfect for chef demonstrations.
The Rooms (continued)
Two large entertaining and relaxing rooms: the Sun Room in the Cottage with floor to ceiling bi-folding doors on three sides, and the gabled Granary in The Barn. In here is the bees-knees of bespoke widescreen Wood Burning stoves (Tregulland has four wood-burning stoves in total), and an HD cinema film projection screen.
A Snug in The Cottage with a fireplace, leather sofa, armchairs, and animal skin rug, perfect for quiet reading time. In The Barn there is the Map Room, covered with maps (as you would expect), and with a leather-topped desk, desk chair, round table, and comfy chair, great for some alone time or planning a trip out.
Utility rooms with separate rainfall shower rooms, recycling facilities, and washing machines and tumble driers.
A drying room with storage for boards and wetsuits.
The Grounds
Venture outdoors at Tregulland and you will find 16 acres of private grounds which include landscaped areas and an orchard with picnic benches.
An outdoor play area for children and a tree swing.
A wooded stream leads down to a lake where you can take out a row boat or go fishing (there are plenty of ghostie and mirror carp weighing over 20lbs). The grounds are rich in wildlife so you may spot and otter going down the river, starlings passing overhead, or even a kingfisher.
The first and only indoor fresh water swimming pool in the UK, 12 x 5 metres and in its own atmospheric pool house, beautiful for night swims or throw open the doors on a sunny day.
