Tilty Hill Barn
Dunmow, Essex
Accommodating 12 guests.

Click here for more details about Tilty Hill Barn.

The Barn was ‘developed’ by the internationally renowned architect, John Pawson, best known for his minimalist style and being one of the most influential architects of recent times. The Barn has appeared in numerous international publications and featured in a number of BBC and other film documentaries around the world.  The owner, Fi McGhee who is a photographer has even published a lovely look book that charts the restoration of the barn, called The Barn.
Tilty Hill  Barn is a beautifully presented complex of agricultural barns dating back to the 17th Century.  They have been transformed into a series of residential spaces; full height glass walls and low partitions in white plaster contrast with the simple directness of the original structure.
Alterations on the exterior of the U-shaped complex are proportioned in such a way as to respect the character of the structure. The interior is lit by large scale sheets of glass that sit directly on the ground and make the original pitched roofs appear to float.

It is set in a stunning rural position enjoying views over open countryside.

The property enjoys a rural position just outside the village of Tilty.  The property is approximately fifteen minute drive Junction 8 on the M11 and approximately 3 miles north of Great Dunmow.
