Sherbourne Park is an impressive Grade II listed Georgian house set on an estate between Warwick and Stratford upon Avon. Its location in central England and easy access to the M40 makes the house a convenient and elegant venue for a gathering of friends, family or work colleagues.

Location

Sherbourne Park lies 3 miles to the west of the ancient town of Warwick on the banks of the River Avon between the hamlet of Sherbourne and the village of Barford. It is approached by a ¼ mile private drive through parkland. Junction 15 of the M40 is one mile away.

The History

The Estate has been held in the Ryland family for the past two centuries and is run by Robin Smith-Ryland as an agricultural and sporting enterprise including the River Avon and woodland laid out for pheasant shooting.

The Accommodation

There is accommodation for 15 guests in the main house. There is space for 16 guests to be seated in the dining room and for up to 24 guests in the drawing room for lunch or dinner.

Ground Floor:

  1. Grand entrance hall.
  2. Dining room in deep red.
  3. Morning room with panelling and open fire.
  4. Large drawing room with seating for up to 20 guests and open fire.
  5. Kitchen/Breakfast room with fridge, toaster and kettle.  (Kitchen can only be used for preparation of cold lunches or sandwiches).
  6. Wc.

First Floor:

  1. Double bedroom with 6’ bed and en-suite bathroom ("Blue Room").
  2. Adjacent dressing room with queen-sized bed.
  3. Double bedroom with 6’ bed with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath ("The Gold Room").
  4. Double bedroom with 2 x 4' four-poster beds and en-suite bathroom ("The Green Room").
  5. Double bedroom with 6’ bed and en-suite bathroom ("The Yellow Room").
  6. Single bedroom ("The Tent Room").

Second Floor:

  1. Master bedroom with 6’ bed with en-suite marble shower room and separate bathroom with roll top bath and access to decked roof terrace. The terrace should not be used by toddlers and young children.
  2. Double bedroom with queen-sized bed and en-suite bathroom ("The Fuchsia Room").
  3. Sitting room with Sky TV/DVD.

The Grounds

Guests will have exclusive use of 6 acres comprising:

  1. Large lawn and terrace to side.
  2. Croquet lawn.
  3. Pool, heated between 1st June and 30th September.
  4. Tennis court.
  5. Lake stocked with fish.
  6. Walks through woods and along the River Avon.
  7. Ample parking to the front of property.

Guests should note that there is a self-contained apartment, staff cottages and a church to the rear of the property. Access to these buildings is via a separate drive and the privacy of guests will be respected at all times. The tennis court may be used by staff or the owner occasionally but only at times when guests are not using it. Young children must be supervised around the pool, lake and along the river bank.
