Set on the South West coast path and with many public footpaths meandering over the many invigorating coastal paths of South Devon it offers an ideal location for walking or for just sitting and relaxing, watching the stunning sun sets. Located approximately 4 miles from Salcombe and 2 miles from Thurlestone, Hope Cove has all the essentials of a quaint sea side village with a couple of traditional pubs, two restaurants, a post office and general store and two beautiful beaches. The Hope Cove commands the highest position on the hillside above the village and has unrivalled sea views and open countryside at the rear. Once a favourite haunt for smugglers, it has become a charming holiday destination. The picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove is two villages in one - Outer and Inner Hope. In the village there is a collection of cob or stone cottages, thatch galore, around a tiny square. The windows are bright with geraniums and you need to bow your head to enter the cottages. The village of Hope Cove nestles in the shelter of Bolt Tail in the curve of Bigbury Bay, clean sandy beaches, and peaceful, relaxed atmosphere, Hope Cove offers the ideal holiday retreat. There are miles of delightful and varied scenery along this rugged Heritage Coastline. Fishing at Hope Cove is not what it was, larger boats operate from Brixham and Plymouth, however, the village is still famous for its Crabs and Lobsters. The area is renowned for its unique flora and fauna, including the nature reserve at Slapton Ley, and for its interesting walks to secluded coves and spectacular viewpoints. The lovely old sailing town of Salcombe is only a few minutes away. THE ACCOMMODATION The Hope Cove has been completely renovated to a high standard and a stylish ‘shabby chic’ holiday house feel has been created. This large house can sleep up to 34 people and is ideal for family holidays, group holidays, and the perfect location for people who enjoy walking. The accommodation is offered on a self-catering, exclusive use basis. Ground floor Entrance Lobby from the rear leads to the kitchen, dining area and lounge: - Kitchen with fully fitted units and work tops, two integrated conventional ovens and hobs, large stainless steel fridge and matching large freezer, washer/dryer and a range of electrical kitchen appliances (kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc.).
- Dining area has five tables which can seat up to 8 on each, they can be put together to accommodate a large group, two sofas and a 40" plasma with full Sky TV.
- Lounge with large windows maximising the superb panoramic views over Hope Cove, there are five comfortable sofas and two large swivel armchairs, 50" plasma with full Sky TV and DVD, a log burning fire.
There are three bedrooms on the ground floor which can sleep up to 12 guests and all the rooms have en-suite with shower;
- Splatts - Double & standard bunk, no view. Sleeps 4.
- Lanacombe. - Double & standard bunk with sea view. Sleeps 4.
- Thurlestone - Double & futon bunk with sea view. Sleeps 4.
First Floor There are six bedrooms on the first floor which can sleep up to 22 guests and all the rooms have en-suite with shower; - North Sands - Single & 3 bunk with country view. Sleeps 4.
- South Sands - Double & standard bunk with sea view. Sleeps 4.
- Soar - Double & 3 sleeper futon bunk with sea view. Sleeps 5.
- South Milton - Standard bunk with sea view. Sleeps 2.
- Bantham - Standard bunk & single with sea view. Sleeps 3.
- Bigbury - Double & tight bunk with sea view. Sleeps 4.
Second floor There are two bedrooms on the second floor which can sleep up to 8 guests and each room has an en-suite with shower;
- Inner Hope - Double & 2 singles with sea view. Sleeps 4.
- Outer Hope - Double & 2 singles with sea view. Sleeps 4.
NB. Phase two will be completed later this year and will provide in addition:
- Superb sun terrace with loungers, hot tub and gas barbecue and alfresco dining.
- Games Lounge with pool table, darts board, and table football.
- Rear facing alfresco games terrace with sun awning over and with pool table, table tennis and darts board.
